Gobi Manchurian Recipe

This recipe is part of the Indo-Chinese menu! Tangy, spicy, and full of flavor, this recipe is the most perfect snack ever!


Ingredients: Gobi & Sauce

Ingredients for Gobi:

cauliflower florets

1/2 cup all purpose flour

1/4 cup cornstarch

1-2 tsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp black pepper

1/2 cup water

oil for frying

salt according to taste


Ingredients for the Sauce:

1 tbs coconut oil

1-2 cloves garlic

2 tsp ginger

1 small onion/spring onion

1 small green chili

2 tbs soy sauce

2 tbs tomato ketchup

1 tbs chili sauce

4 tbs corn flour & water mixture

salt according to taste


Recipe:

Cook Time: 2 hours

  1. Boil the cauliflower for 5-10 min

  2. Drain & dry the florets

  3. Make the batter: all purpose flour, cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt, cornstarch

  4. Add water until the consistency is slightly thick

  5. Coat the cauliflower florets with the batter

  6. Once the oil is hot (check by adding a little batter and seeing if it rises to the top), fry the florets

  7. Fry until golden brown

  8. In another pan, add oil, chopped garlic, chopped ginger, & chopped green chilies

  9. Add onion/spring onion

  10. After everything is slightly cooked, mix in soy sauce, chili sauce, salt & tomato ketchup

  11. Add water & the cornstarch slurry for thickness

  12. Cool the sauce & mix with cauliflower florets

  13. Garnish with chopped spring onion

  14. Serve hot & enjoy!
